Time to leave Kalmar. First a nice breakfast at the hotel and around 11 am checkout and taking my stuff back to the station. The only way to Oskarshamn is the bus, since there is no passenger train.

Bus 160 for a little bit over 100 SEK. The travel time is 1 h 20 min. Not to many people on the bus, but the bus goes every 30 minutes. So after some relaxing out-of-the-window-watching time to get off the bus. A short walk to Clarion Hotel Post. A nice old building at the Stortorget in Oskarshamn.

I am very early, but again I am allowed to check in at once ad get a great big room. Until now, I did not have bad luck with the hotels and rooms.

The weather is so nice and warm that I go out a soon as possible after getting settles in. There is no real tourist information, so again it is exploring by caching. One Adventure Lab is a tour around the city, another one is taking on street art at buildings. Combined they give you a nice walk around the city and finding the most attractive spots.

One “hidden” gem is the area along Besvärgatan. The oldest part of Oskarshamn with beautiful old wooden houses and roses on the walls.

Otherwise, there is not much in the city, which is small. Some shops, including a shopping center with all the main brands. But the walk is great. This will be some more kilometers today.

My walk ends up at the church, which I do not visit (since it is closed), but which is in the Stadsparken (Swedish cities and their parks again). It is still early afternoon, so why not go down to the harbor and along the shore. A tour onto the small island of Badholmen and then a little bit more around before I feel, that this is enough walking for the day.

Dinner at the hotel is which, which I don’t like. I checked out some of the restaurants around. The ones that were recommended by the reception were not what I wanted. I end up at a Kebab place again, but this time it is a good one.

Time t get back to the hotel and settle in for the night, before my trip to Gotland tomorrow noon.
