Breakfast at the hotel. Good breakfast. Even waffles (the US Style). Unfortunately, I have no app or online guide for a self-guided tour for Kalmar. I did a trip to the tourist information yesterday, but they only had paper booklet to take with you. They still live 10 years ago…

So it is more about walking around, exploring on my own. A very nice old town. But there are no really special shops or cafés again. Many old houses and I am there before opening hours. The whole city center contains Multi caches and Adventure labs. I solve a few of them, but many of the Adventure Labs include a lot of walking the whole city several times, and the finals of the multis would make me travel by car to some place outside the city. But there are a few closer by.

Since there is not much to do in the city center – by the way, the old town is close to the castle, not here – let’s buy a day ticket for public transport. There is a challenge cache outside the city. And driving around with the bus gives you the cache to see more of the city. And I caught the bus doing the big tour around the city before it arrives at Hansa city. That was not a real shopping center, just some shops spread out over a bigger, car based area. But a cache to find and a sausage at IKEA before taking the bus two more stops.

It helps to read the cache description. This one was out of reach without a ladder. Not much more to do than admit defeat and take the next bus back to the city. Since it is a little bit cloudy, I stop at the local swimming pool to do a kilometer of swimming and sitting in the sauna.

Refreshed by that, I walk more around the outer city area. There is a small bakery on the way where I get a chocolate biscuit and then two more caches. Again, it is a nice city, but there are very few people around.

From the event yesterday, I got three tips about restaurants. One is too expensive, so I chose the Vietnamese restaurant this time to get something different. A lot of people there and a possibility to sit outside. Fried duck breast with rice and pickled carrots. Very good.

There is not so much more to do today, so since I am on holiday the evening is quiet with some reading and movie.
